Do you like scary Mortal Kombat 1 Ghostface guides?
Netherealms dropped a strange but welcomed choice for a DLC fighter recently from Scream.
But what is their playstyle and are they worth swithcing up your main to?
Mortal Kombat 1 Ghostface Guide
For those wondering who Ghostface is he is from the movie scream. Or techinically they are or really people are just refering to Billy. But the movies aside the Ghostface pair here are all about mixups.
You may of read it somewhere that their combo damage is low compared to other fighters. Well apart from their 30 second long string that got them a ban professionaly yes, they are. But that is not the gameplan for Ghostface.
This Mortal Kombat 1 Ghostface guide is telling you to practice that mixup game. Because they have combo routes from almost all areas.
We are talking combo routes from lows, overheads and even tech grabs!
Firstly you want to have Mavado as your Kameo. You could go for Scorpion or Ken Shi for style but Mvardo offers you your most mixup potential. Specifically allowing combo routes from your tech grabs and lows.
Really if you wanted to you could play MK1 Ghostface more like a grappler than anything. His screen reach and low tech grabs do 30% damage with the Kameo!
But for more straightforward routes be throwing out his Suprise Sydney string. This string is quick to throw and is completly safe on block! For mixup swithc to scene stealer which ends in a safe low and Mavado followup on hit!
Also against non fast characters like Reptile you can throw out Final Cut whenver. Its -7 on block so only a few characters can actually punish just keep them in mind. But of course it has a follow up with the right cameo!
For full combos throw out Collarboned as it extends into anything and causes them standing. This is super good for you as they cannot use any wakeups and you get to keep up the pressure.
Combo Got A Little Overzealous
Also one to be throwing out a fair bit is killerdropkick. This move is a great low with suprisngly great reach and followups. And he gets a combo just off his general sweep with the right cameos too!
In air you want to be using Stake Driver as it bounces them leaving them close to you. Unlike the alternative it just knocks them away ruining any followup.
However in game you want to play MK1 Ghostface like the killer from the movie. What I mean is you got to rely on reading your opponents patterns and mixing yourself up right for suprise lows and grabs.
Some great tech is just after a knockdown following up with either a delayed or straight up tech grab. The key is not falling into a pattern and doing the same mixups. Once the opponetns knows your gameplan its pretty much over.
The fun of MK1 Ghostface comes from the suprise element you are dishing out all round. You want to be using all varaints of always outnumberd. This call to the other Ghostface has him either tech grabbing, isntantly hitting mid, delaying the hit or just straight uppercutting into a combo.
With it you can apply pressure at all distances and keep them on their toes. Throw these ouit along with his pyschotic rush mixups and backstage pass cancels and you will have a frightned player on the other end.
But for defending against Ghostface all I can say is just learn the mixup. Lab his rushes and mixup specials and you will be able to read them better mid fight. Again if you get a read on him its in your favour. Just don’t get too mad over all the mixups. So keep it mixing with Mortal Kombat 1 Ghostface.
Ironically 2 dudes with a knife ended up stronger than Omniman!
